Lessons Learned

Don't start your vacation on trash day if you are thinking of sleeping in. I did that this year. The first trash truck was on our street at 7 a.m. That truck had faulty brakes that ground to a halt at each driveway. It was louder than any rooster I have ever heard. The next company trash truck on the street was a little quieter, but still had air brakes. Yikes. The trash crusher could be heard throughout the neighborhood. Later someone was trimming trees, lawn crews visited, etc. Wednesday was a noisy, noisy day in our quiet neighborhood.

Today was better. Birds, locusts, crickets, wind chimes, silence.

Lesson learned - Don't start your vacation on Wednesday.
